Minutes

The Bancroft County Board of Supervisors met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. in the Supervisors' Room of the courthouse. Chair Ostergaard called the meeting to order.

Present: Supervisors Ostergaard, Whitmore, and Cabrera. Also present: County Auditor Gene Prewitt, recording.

Minutes of January 21 and claims of $77,905.22 were approved, 3–0 (Cabrera/Whitmore).

The Board held a FY2026 budget workshop with the Auditor. Department requests were reviewed; no action was taken. The Board directed staff to hold the consolidated levy near the prior-year rate.

Sheriff Curtis Ballard requested replacement of two patrol vehicles exceeding 130,000 miles. The Board directed the request be included in the draft capital budget for further consideration.

The Board discussed a draft commercial wind energy ordinance. Public input will be sought before any action. Item continued.

Two residents spoke regarding the wind ordinance discussion.

Motion by Whitmore, seconded by Cabrera, to adjourn. Motion carried 3–0. Meeting adjourned at 10:35 a.m..
